Located in a conserved residential shophouse in Joo Chiat area, The Hobby Room is a private space carved out by the owner for his creative pursuits.
With the new found space, the owner was looking for a customized work station that reflects his love for raw industrial aesthetics which are evident in the furniture choices around the house.
To achieve that, DOERS worked closely with the owner to design and install a furniture set made entirely from raw plywood with only a thin layer of lacquer to preserve its natural texture. The side edges of the wood was also deliberately left exposed to reveal its layerings which lend itself well to the overall aesthetic.
